My Page, With Mr. Boysonn Some of the guys at the office asked me if I wanted to go out to see a show and I said,”Duh. What time does it start?” They shrugged their shoulders and said, “Nine, I think.” So I raced home after work, made myself some food and was ready by 7:30. Geez, I thought, now I have all this time to just sit around, so I got all my Garfield books out and started tlooking though them. Boy, that crazy cat makes me laugh. Well, by the time I got done reading them and looked at the clock, two hours slipped by and it was 9:30. The guys were gonna kill me. I jumped on my bicycle and peddled as fast as I could to the club. Let me tell you, I rode fast. It only took me 15 minutes to get there! I may have missed the band but at least I could explain to the guys somehow. I locked up my bike and walked up to the doorman. I asked him how the band was and he told me that they hadn’t even played yet. Lucky me! Maybe my friends wouldn’t be mad at me. I showed him my ID, paid the five bucks and walked in. And hardly anybody was there! Not even my friends and there was no band even playing. Then 10:00 rolled around and then 10:45 and still no people. I heard somebady say, “should we start? There’s three other bands playing tonight” Then somebody else said, “We’ll wait 10 more minutes.” Twenty minutes later they started playing with only 15 people in the bar and everybody talking to each other and not even paying attention to the band. My friends finally showed up half way through their last song and after the show they said to the band, “Hey, sorry we were so late.” And the band guy said, “Oh. Hey. No Problem.” Boy, that would sure steam me like clams, if my freinds told me they would be at my show and didn’t show up until the last song! I asked them about it next day and they told me that most shows go that way. I just don’t get it. It seems like people just miss a bunch of really great music. Personally, I thought the band was really good and my friends just missed out on a great show. Their loss. See you next month. |
